Where to Stay at Family-Friendly Destinations This School Holidays – Part 1

Family travel, especially with young children, can be quite challenging. Issues like budget, room space, accessibility to attractions and cranky kids can put off parents from leaving home. But with enticing promos from airlines, especially low-cost carriers, tours and even comfortable accommodations with plenty of space like apartments and other local properties thanks to Airbnb, the hassle of travelling abroad is slowly becoming a thing of the past. Let’s look at some of top choice destinations that promise fun for all ages.

For access to practically everything – trains stations, shopping malls carrying big brands and amazing beauty products at low prices, convenience stores, food courts, restaurants and street food etc – Seoul’s primary shopping district Myeongdong is the perfect place for a family.

From November till April each year, the capital of Hokkaido turns into a winter wonderland. One of the highlights in the city surrounded by rolling hills, natural hot springs and incredible seafood is the week-long annual snow festival called Sapporo Yuki Matsuri. Every February, the event takes place at three venues – Odori Site features large snow sculptures, Susukino Site exhibits about 100 ice sculptures and Tsu Dome Site for snow slides, snow rafting and more snow sculptures (remember to dress in layers as well as gloves and headwear). The city’s railway system will get you to numerous attractions and travelling via train is much easier as the roads tend to get slippery during winter. For train navigation, download HyperDia.
