Momo’s, A New Hotel by Ormond Group Is Set To Open In Kuala Lumpur This November

Kuala Lumpur’s hotel scene is set to welcome another cool new kid on the block this November with the opening of MoMo’s, the latest property by Ormond Group.

Guests looking for a stylish yet affordable stay in the city can book a stay at MoMo’s, which offers 99 minimalist rooms with plush beds, bespoke amenities from Jeanie Botanicals, 43-inch smart TVs and as well as safes.

Going away with a formal lobby, MoMo’s incorporates a central hub of activity dubbed as The Playground. Upon entry, guests will be greeted with coffee or cocktail by hosts instead of the traditional notion of front of house staff. The Playground also functions a social space for planned weekly events ranging from performance art, workshops and exhibitions, to gigs and live DJ sets.

For dining there is MoMosita’s, a self-serve dive bar which offers tacos alongside draft beer and bottled cocktails. A brainchild of wonder restaurateurs Eddie Chew and Chris Bauer of F&B hotspots Troika Sky Dining and Mr Chew’s Chino Latino Bar, MoMosita’s is poised as the next low-key hangout for guests and locals to let loose and mingle.

This hip new accommodation option is located at the intersection of Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman and Jalan Sultan Ismail, just 10 minutes away by car to KLCC and Bukit Bintang. MoMo’s is also next door to its sister establishment The Chow Kit, another new launch from Ormond Group which caters to a more upscale audience.

The interior was designed by Sydney-based architecture firm Akin Atelier, featuring a soft palette of dusty pink, washed green and aged brass on the furnishings amid the use of raw concrete, laminated timber and combed plaster throughout the property. Malaysian creativity is also celebrated here through collaborations with furniture studio Kedai Bikin and textile designer Shan Shan Lim.

Curated to offer guests a design-focus and value-for-money experience in mind, MoMo’s caters to young and culturally driven travellers, featuring dynamic social spaces that engage with creative communities and urban nomads.

According to Ormond Group CEO Gareth Lim, “Social interaction is central to MoMo’s ethos and we are confident that our new hotel will be an exciting new venue in the city where guests and locals collide in a fun and energetic atmosphere.”
