Learn how Kuala Lumpur got its name with MUD The Musical

The award-winning MUD The Musical is back to add cheer to the holiday season, from 14 to 22 December! This time, performed by a multi-talented cast comprising children and young actors from Enfiniti Juniors. Enfiniti Academy, the arts education arm of the Enfiniti Group of companies, stages a family-friendly holiday season production every year end.

MUD The Musical, created and produced by Enfiniti Productions, ran for three years at Panggung Bandaraya KL, and was awarded by The Malaysia Book of Records for being the longest-running show in Malaysia. It is the story of how Kuala Lumpur was founded by our forefathers, who came from far and near, to build a home together in a village called Kuala Lumpur circa 1850. The original Kampung of Kuala Lumpur started at the muddy confluence of Sungai Kelang and Sungai Gombak, which is how the name came about.

MUD The Musical is a 75-minute highly entertaining, lively interactive performance with audience participation in various scenes like the Great Fire and Flood of 1881, the Kenduri Kampung, and Joget Lambak, and will be performed in English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin and Tamil. Expect to see beautiful traditional costumes, intricately hand-drawn batik-inspired visuals on an LED backdrop, and special stage effects that will take you back to the beginning of the tin mining boom era.
